Protecting her cookie
C and I went to the "park" nearest to our house yesterday. There is a great park in the Palisades. This ain't it. This is some remaindered plastic playhouses set in a wood chip corral. And there are some swings. It isn't pretty, but it is close, so we went yesterday to get out of the house after her afternoon nap.
She gets a snack after her nap. Yesterday it was a nibbly finger (some healthy granola bar cookie finger thing). As you will see, she will fall, climb, slide and run all while holding onto her cookie.
She offered the dinosaur her cookie.
Then after a few trips down the slide, she attempted to go up the slide herself.
She is checking to make sure it is still safe.
She is mastering climbing onto and off of stuff as I have shared in the past, and now she tries to use the same technique for going over things as well. Doesn't quite work the same.
Then we sat on a bench and had some water (yaya). Caroline likes my camelbak water bottles more than her sippy cups so we got her her own today. It is much smaller than this one.
We're getting excited about the holidays and hopefully will have more photos more often.

Olivia turns 3
We went to Holbrook Castle today to celebrate Olivia's third birthday in full princess style. Her mama did a stellar job decorating and hosting (as usual) and we enjoyed brunch, sugar, and presents with the birthday girl.
I made some bird wings for her. I hope she enjoys them! I think they go well with her new princess heels.
Caroline had fun of course. She let anyone pick her up as long as they fed her. Ha. We know the girl likes her food.
She was also super interested in the gifts, and Auntie Misses' bubbly water.
And how cute are these two?!?!
Credit to James and Amanda for ALL of the photos in this post. Happy Birthday O!

Some of our week
Just a few iphone pics to share from this past week or so. I haven't been shooting much because it gets dark by 5pm and I am just not a fan of flash. I should probably get over it and see what I can capture.
Caroline has some new party tricks. She started off by figuring out how to get off of furniture (ottoman, couch, bed). Now she can get on to the ottoman. It usually scares me to death!
Today after a big birthday party (more to come on that) we went to the park. Caroline loved the crusty old push mower!
Holiday store decorations are fun!
But shopping is exhausting.
And look at my girl all fancy drinking out of a straw! She was simply spectacular last weekend at this restaurant. I wasn't even on edge the whole time worried about her behavior! Helps that she still loves to eat.
Finally, we went to the 12 month old check up this week. Caroline is 75th percentile in all three measurements (length, weight, head size). She got three shots and she did not like them. But is is in perfect health and for that we are so blessed.

New tools
I really didn't take many photos the past week or so. We had an under the weather household after the big birthday. But Caroline has tried out some new mealtime accessories, such as a fork and spoon, and I managed to capture some of the fun. Huge fan.
She still loves my camera and gets unhappy when she cannot play with it.
Also still loves my water bottle!
Her favorite thing right now seems to be tissue paper. We got a gift in the mail and when I turned around, she was unwrapping it, which entailed the following:
Off to the doctor today for the big one-year check-up. Hopefully will post some stats later this week!
