New grill and a birthday party

This week, John's new gas grill arrived and therefore we tested it out on Saturday night with some kebobs (shrimp, andouille, corn, and potato).  James, Amanda and O joined us for dinner and hung out during bath time.  Guess who was the best bath time helper?

Yep, Cousin Olivia!  She poured water for me and rinsed off Caroline's legs.  It was very sweet.  O also scored a smile from Caroline.

Sunday brought a special celebration, Linda's birthday brunch!  The birthday girl donned her party crown (decorated by O) and got lots of Caroline time.

Olivia made many lovely crowns and we tried both a crown and party hat out on Caroline.

The food was excellent of course. The Misses is rocking a cute little bump these days!

Nana Lu had a nice pile off goodies and O, being the stellar gift unwrapper she is, lent a hand.

There was bouncy time...

(check those double/triple chins on C!)

And there was cuddle time...

And Nigel and Gracie were in on the action too...

There was also some good Dad time, and due to an unfortunate overnight diaper issue, some time between the sheets in our bed!

This one stands alone

xoxo

Three months old!

Oh my baby is so big!  Today she is three months old.

We made it through a bit of our photo shoot before we busted out our new party trick... Caroline's version of stiff as a board!  She does not loving sitting on her butt these days and would prefer to stand.  The result of her planking:

Cute right?!??!  Her arms and legs move a mile a minute, and she is growing into her cloth diapers.

I just cannot get enough of this face.

She is growing stronger and stronger and gaining more control of her arms.  Her legs and back remain the strongest, as she can support her weight completely on her legs.

I attempted a self-timer shot of Caroline and I.  I couldn't get the focusing to work, so our best shot is a bit blurry :(

Happy 1/4 year little Lady!

Fun weekend and a sewing craft

We had such a lovely weekend and are enjoying our extra day off today.  We got to go on a few walks outside and Caroline loves being in the fresh air.  Hopefully it will be warmer soon and we can spend more time out in the sunshine.

On Saturday we ate lunch with Nana Laura, James, Amanda, and O.  The girls were checking out the ducks after lunch.

Sunday brought brunch with Marisa at Rustico...yummy ricotta donuts!

And today I finally finished my first baby dress!  It came out pretty well...only a few small mess-ups that make it less than perfect, but it is homemade so it is what it is.

I used a Lotta Jansdottir fabric and a pattern from i think sew.  I hopefully will churn out another dress or two for the summer!

Keeping busy

I don't have much time during the week to shoot photos of our Lady, but I still try.  Tonight we tested out the high chair to see if Caroline fits into it yet, since she has good head control now.  Clearly she has a bit of growing to do before she fits in the straps.

Maybe by the time she eats real food she will fit in her chair!  Until then Megan and O can use it when they are at our house.

Some other shots from today.

This is probably the last time Caroline will get to wear this outfit.  She is growing so fast!  It will have to go into the bucket for Auntie Catherine and Uncle Eric's baby.

Caroline is just so sweet and smily.  She also clearly does not like to be bored and lets us know when she is.  I am glad she likes being worn in a carrier.  She can interact with us from a higher vantage (I feel a baby carrier post coming on!).  She also likes to sit with us when we are all three together.

How cute are these two??

Finally...a shot from our bath tonight.  She loves it!

Brag time

Feel free to skip posts titled "brag time" if you don't want to hear me do just that...brag.  Though I don't entirely see the sharing of milestones (early, late, or on time) bragging necessarily, because this blog helps us record all of Caroline's activities so we can look back in a few years and remember how teeny and new she was!

Now for the bragging.  Caroline has been rolling over from front to back since probably around 6 weeks.  However today Caroline rolled over today from back to front!  She did it twice in a row and both times she got pretty upset once she realized she was on her stomach.  It was pretty cute.  She accomplished this feat during no pants time.  No pants time occurs every night between 6ish and 6:45 - this is by far her fussiest time of the day and for some reason, if we take her pants off and lay her on the table, she calms down.  This usually gets us to bath time when nothing else (slings, carriers, bouncy seats, etc) works.

Sorry, no pics of no pants time today, but we did spend some time in our bumbo this weekend.

She is still working on grasping her rattle and other toys.  This weekend I also opened her Sophie giraffe.  I am trying not to call it her Sophie, because she already has one (her cousin) and I don't want to confuse her.  But it is hard.  She seems to like it, though is still not really grabbing it with any regularity.

Maybe when she does I will do some more bragging.  Happy 12 weeks sweet Lady!

Back to work

So I returned to work this week, and therefore have few photos to share.  But some is better than none.  Taking care of our sweet baby is Daiane!  She is the nicest.  We share Daiane with Megan, who is one sweet chatty little lady.

Introducing Daiane and Megan.

Megan will be one in March and is cruising all over the place!

The girls hang out in the basement for much of the day.  Today when I got home, Caroline was pretty giggly.

Finally, I decided to bust out the jumpy gym thing for the girls.  You can see that Caroline is still too young to really make magic happen but she likes it nonetheless.

Caroline also had awesome Lyle Lovett hair this week.  Proof:
