We had an eventful week. Caroline had a virus and cut her first molar late last weekend, so I was home with her Monday and Tuesday to monitor her fever. The virus made its way out the door but not before causing C to break out into a full body rash. Then on Thursday evening Caroline had a small accident and chipped a tooth on the bath tub.
But she is all better now! And this weekend we ate bagels at home on Saturday, and celebrated Amanda's birthday with brunch and play time today. We'll start with the birthday! Olivia and Rhys were of course in attendance. This shot kills me. She wasn't even posing. Love...
C just loves her cousins. And she loves things she can push around.
She took a rest on the lawn before heading in for cake with Nana Lu and John.
After a nap, we had some outdoor time this afternoon and sported the fancy pants from Auntina.
BTW, Caroline eats bagels the way she eats any food that consists of something on bread. She just eats the something. Then maybe at the end she'll go back for the bread (bagel, waffle, etc).
Hoping for an uneventful week before the big birthday festivities this weekend!

When she wakes up
So I intended to go take a few pics of Caroline during her nap. But the door to her room sticks and of course she popped right up when I tried to sneak in. (Yes it was the door sticking that woke her up...I am super stealthy - ha). So just a little slide show of a sleepy girl.

Cooped up
Our weekend was pretty standard...then we hunkered down for Hurricane Sandy. John, Caroline and I hung out pretty much every moment together from Sunday afternoon until Tuesday evening. In between FEMA conference calls, I tried to come up with some fun activities for her but she wasn't all that interested.
I made her some paint:
Not really her thing. I did have some nice hand prints on my walls though. Then we popped outside during a break in the rain (or before the start of it...I don't really remember).
C loves her Megan bear suit. And we cooked, baked and ate. Johnny made onion soup and Caroline ate stuff with ketchup.
I like when I get to hang out all day and night with my favorite people. Although I definitely appreciate being able to get out of the house now if I need to. I am thankful our loved ones are safe and have not had too much damage as a result of the storm. The FEMA calls continue each day, a few times a day, and I'll do what I can to help with response and recovery over the next days, weeks, months. And I'll take some pics. xoxo.

Caroline's first Halloween
You've seen Ghostbusters right? This little creature could never be that scary!
Once we got her to keep her hat on we were able to get a few good shots. The day was a bit dark, since we were on the tail end of Hurricane Sandy. Megan wore her costume yesterday too!
I could not get a good one of the two of them together. This instagram is courtesy of Daiane:
We didn't trick or treat, but I did walk Caroline down the sidewalk and our next door neighbors came out to see her. We got so few visitors. I was super disappointed. Maybe next year I'll have to decorate better or something. I love seeing the kids all dressed up!
At some point she decided to lay in the grass. It was pretty cute.
And that is all she wrote.
