Halloween may be the best thing that has ever happened to Caroline

I got home from work at the normal time.  It was overcast so I got Caroline dressed in her owl costume and brought her outside for a photo shoot.  I knew the costume would only last a few minutes...mostly because it had a mask.

She got into it when Nini and I asked her to flap her wings.  Then she was quickly over it and took off the wings.

She is a nose-picker now.  She is smiling because we asked her to not pick her nose.  Ha.

Then Olivia came over and we headed out trick-or-treating.  Notice the costume change.  She wouldn't put back on the owl so thankfully we had the butterfly fairy dress thing (O hand me down!).

MORE CANDY!!!!!!!!!  This is basically all she said all night.  Caroline was totally into it.  She loved going from door to door to get her fill.  She had no issue marching right up to the folks.  I must say that the neighborhood was AMAZING for trick-or-treating.  They even had adult treats.  Next year we may have to family costume.  Or at least dress up.

And then there was Eleanor.  She slept through it all but at least she looked cute!

It was just a great night.  As a friend said...this is what life is all about.  Last night was perfect.

Life lately, according to my iPhone and Instagram

Snuggles.

A visit to the Freemans in Texas!

Tummy time, tubby, and lounging.

And a biweekly trip to the park with other Palisades kids!

Eleanor's tubby and a festival

I feel the mom guilt already now that I have two kids.  I take far fewer photos with my "fancy camera" of my everyday with Eleanor than I did with Caroline.  It is also WAYYY harder to whip out the big guns when we are out and about with both girls.  Regardless, I really wanted to start capturing our everyday more, even if just on my iPhone.

Eleanor loves a tubby, just like her sister!  She doesn't exactly smile, but she doesn't cry either.

This past weekend, we joined cousin O at the Potomac festival.  The girls had some phone time as we were prepping.  Caroline loves being with O and wants to do everything together.

Then off to the festival we went!  Both girls loved this ride.  We were a bit concerned there would be some tears.  Nope.  Huge smiles!

There were bouncy slides and houses, and booths with candy and treats.  The girls had a good time and it was nice to do something so close to (James and Amanda's) home.

Helmut

Not a misspelling.  She pronounces it that way.  Like Helmut Lang.  Caroline loves her Helmut.  That, plus a borrowed scooter (thanks Olivia) and some fancy new kicks =

Man did she pick it up quickly.  She loves her new little mode of transportation so we will be adding this to her birthday list for sure.

It is super hot here in DC so Caroline got quite tired and sweaty after a bit.

See you later!

EMN - Two months old

This month brought many gummy smiles and some great head strength!  Our Eleanor sleeps 10 or so hours at night, which we greatly appreciate.  She has really started to interact with us, and she started smiling at Caroline, which totally melts my heart.  At her two month appointment she weighed 12 lbs and was 24 inches long.

With being furloughed, I am contemplating tacking on a few extra days onto my maternity leave, otherwise I go back to work before the end of the month.  Boo.

Off to solicit some smiles and to watch the big girl scoot.  Photos of that to come!

Five Nichols grandkids, all on a couch.

Serious:

Silly:

And our last group shot from about a year ago:

Babs turns 60!!!

What a weekend!  The Curley clan, plus some Alfords, Nichols, and a ton of great friends, joined us here in DC a few weekends ago to celebrate Barbara turning 60.  We had a food truck, keg, and sangria.

It was fun.  So fun in fact that I only took a handful of photos all weekend.  Sigh.

These three, I tell you...crazy times.
